First, the sides are carefully measured for the desired depth of the body. Then, they're water soaked and slowly bent, using a specialized steaming process. Once the instrument begins to take shape, the sides are placed in a pre-designed form for final bending. Our guitars stay in their forms allowing our luthiers to add the kerf lining and the blocking to the interior of the body.
The sound hole and rosette are completed on the top and braces are added to both top and bottom. The top and bottom are then ready to be glued and clamped to the sides.
Binding is added around the sides and the instrument is ready for sanding.
Meanwhile, the neck is custom formed for the artist, the fretboard is created, including inlay design, and attached to the neck. The neck is then finely fitted to the body of the guitar.
Many hours of wet and dry sanding are then required before the final French Polish can be applied. The polishing phase itself takes numerous hours and several coats to obtain the finished look.
Next, the guitar tuners and strings are installed and the guitar is tuned to pitch. The final stage allows the instrument
to cure and be happily played by all! The more a guitar is played, the better it sounds!
